Luciano Fontana’s Bio

Luciano Fontana was born in Siracusa – Sicily – in 1980. He is a director, associate Professor, editor and producer. He’s been mostly working between Rome and Los Angeles but he’s been shooting also in Spain, France, UK and Africa.

He started working on Tv in the early 2000’s for ReteSole, where he developed many technical skills, from Camera Dept. to editing and directing (both live and edited TV Programs).

On the side he started working as BTS filmmaker for Radio Rock and  started his career on music entertainment as well. He combined TV and music on “Route 66”, a Tv Program that he wrote and directed. During those years he shoot on stage Enrico Ruggeri, The Asia, Karate, Karl Palmer amongst many others.

During those years he also approached the Fashion Industry shooting some Catwalks and Events for Picci Morra, Vassalli, Ethic, Reneè Olivier and Other brands.
In 2007 he started working for LA7 – the 3rd largest network in Italy -where he served as TDsome of the most important political talk shows and news programs of the Country. His live experience includes the Obama’s election night, several Italian Prime Ministers’ election days and part of the “Live Earth”, the huge worldwide concert organized by Al Gore in 2007 across 10 Nations and including on Stage artists such  John Legend, Rihanna, Duran Duran, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Metallica, Pussycat Dolls, Madonna, Foo Fighters, Ludacris, Kanye West, Alicia Keys, The Police, Bon Jovi and many others.

On the side he worked as Director for “The Place”, one of the historical Italian Concert Hall where he filmed about 80 concerts in 3 years. He had on stage Fabio Concato, Gigi D’Alessio, Paola Turci, Eugenio Finardi, Simone Cristicchi, Renato Sellani, Caro Emerald, Gino Vannelli, Dominic Miller, Tuck&Patty, Ray Gelato and his Giants, The Kocani Orkestar and so many others.

In 2009 he directed at the Milan “Blue Note” a concert for Pino Daniele during his tour “Electric Jam”, featuring J-Ax.

In 2009/2011 Luciano Fontana had also the honor to teach a class of “Theory and technology of TV language” for a Master in Journalism at TOR VERGATA University  in Rome.

In 2011 he first moved to Los Angeles – California – and he immediately worked as director and producer for Tali-geni, an international company producing music videos for some of the most famous hip hop stars of the world. For them, he has been directing/producing videos featuring Akon, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Wayne, Puff Daddy, Rick Ross, Flo-rida, Mack 10, and many others top of the notch artists.

In 2013 he co-founded and managed as President the production company “BBF Media Inc.”. During those years he kept shooting music videos and he produced several photo-shootings for the worldwide brand Drunknmunky all over the US (Los Angeles, San Franisco, Las Vegas and New York) and worked as filmmaker for the U.S. Fashion Magazine “Black & Grey”.

In 2014 he worked as Producer for “Raging Nation” with Dale “Rage” Resteghini himself, who is known to be the American director who shot more music videos than anyone else in US music History. They worked together for The Last Internationale, Brad Wilk (from Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave), Won-G, Swollen Members and many others.

Luciano Fontana has another skill: he has been producing (as filmmaker) instructional videos, DVDs and reality shows for an international institute for reproductive medicine. These productions show the real process of having an assisted pregnancy, from managing patients relationships, to performing specific surgical procedures.

This combination of different experiences shows why he has learned to be efficient and reliable in every kind of situations, from a Live Tv show followed by a 10 millions people audience to a surgery room or a quarter million dollars’ music video production. Plus he has developed a very proficient vision for multi-camera shooting beside the Set-life.
